I recently purchased the 34" UltraGear™ (34GP63A) QHD 160Hz 5ms Curved Gaming Monitor with FreeSync, and here are my initial impressions.
First Impressions
The monitor looks fantastic right out of the box. The curved design adds an immersive touch to my gaming setup, and I was pleased to find no dead pixels on the screen.
Display Quality
The high resolution is a standout feature, making games look incredibly sharp and detailed. The colors are vibrant, and the overall visual experience is top-notch.
Performance
While the monitor is advertised to support up to 160Hz, I initially experienced a lower than expected refresh rate. After some research, I discovered that to achieve the full 160Hz, a DisplayPort connection is necessary instead of HDMI. Currently, I have the resolution up to 100Hz and am awaiting a newly purchased DisplayPort adapter to unlock the monitor’s full potential.
Conclusion
Despite the minor hiccup with the refresh rate, I am excited about the performance and visual quality of the 34" UltraGear™ (34GP63A) monitor. It promises to enhance my gaming experience significantly, and I look forward to fully utilizing its capabilities once the DisplayPort adapter arrives.
